This feature will be available after the February 2026 release in your region for users with the OC Power Publisher, OC Site Manager, or OC System Administrator roles, or any custom role with Advanced WYSIWYG permissions.
A document library listing is a simple way to create dynamic lists of documents in a page's body content. The library allows content authors to create and update long lists of documents to make them searchable and easy for residents to locate.
Document libraries source documents from folders in the files library, so new and updated documents are automatically added to pages. Content authors can use content labels to filter their document lists, add pagination for extensive libraries, and choose between two display options.
Before you can add a document library to your page, you must organize your document files into the folders or add content labels to each file that you want to list on the page. You can use both methods to create highly targeted lists of document links.
Create a Flat List Document Library
The Flat List display will show all documents in the source folder in one list, without showing the folder hierarchy. The list will include a keyword search and each entry will list the file name, type, size, and any content in the What is the purpose of this content? field if that option is selected.
- Open the WYSIWYG Editor for the content page and select the Document library plugin icon in the WYSIWYG toolbar.
- Choose the Flat List display option and select Next.
- Use the Document source drop-down menu to choose the source folder in your Files library. You cannot select the root folder for your site.
- Choose your remaining sorting options:
- Content labels: Choose to include All files, or filter by Some content labels.
- Results per page: Use this drop-down menu to select how many files to show per page. Additional files will be paginated in the listing.
- Sort options: Choose to sort the listing By Name alphabetically or the Activate date and to order the listing Direction by Ascending or Descending.
- Document summary: Check the Include summary box to show the document summary in the listing. This content is sourced from the What is the purpose of this content? field.
- Select Insert.
Create a Folder View Document Library
Document libraries with the Folder view display will show all files sorted into folders and respecting the folder hierarchy.
Any folders within the selected source folder will be listed alongside the files and site visitors can select a folder to view the files within them; they can also select the Back to [folder] link to navigate back to the source folder.
- Open the WYSIWYG Editor for the content page and select the Document library plugin icon in the WYSIWYG toolbar.
- Choose the Folder view display option and select Next.
- Use the Document source drop-down menu to choose the source folder in your Files library. You cannot select the root folder for your site.
- Choose your remaining sorting options:
- Content labels: Choose to include All files, or filter by Some content labels. Please note that while folders will show in the listing, the files within them will only be listed if they meet the conditions you select here.
- Results per page: Use this drop-down menu to select how many folders and files to show per page. Additional files will be paginated in the listing.
-
Sort files inside the folders: Choose how to sort the files in each folder. You can sort the listing By Name alphabetically or the Activate date and to order the listing Direction by Ascending or Descending. Folders are listed as they display in the files library.
- Select Insert.
These document libraries are the simplified way to create automated document links on your pages. They differ from the Document Library module in that they offer a streamlined way to add and update documents to your pages, once you have set the library up. Conversely, the Document Library module uses an OC Module Interface page to list OC Document pages you have created.
