OC Park pages are great for showcasing the wonderful features of the parks within your council.

The fields built into the content type enable you to easily present specific features, location details, hours and contact details, and an image gallery.

One particularly important feature of the OC Park content type is the ability to add temporary announcements. This feature lets you warn your community of any temporary closures, warnings, or disruptions within your parks.

How to Create an OC Park Page

  1. Right-click in the site tree where you want to create the page.
  2. Choose Create page.
  3. Select OC Park as the content type.
  4. Select which template you would like to use.
  5. Fill out the necessary fields of the page.
  6. Add any supplementary information in the WYSIWYG Editor
  7. Publish the page.

What to Include on Your OC Park Page

Use the following information to fill out OC Park page fields:

  • Page name: Completes the unique page URL.
  • Facility name: The name displayed in the parks listing page and as the title of the page.
  • Add facility summary: A brief overview of the park for listing pages and search results.
  • Select facility categories: The categories associated with the park. These categories are also used as a search filter on the parks listing page.
Note: Site Managers or System Administrators can customize the preset options available for Park categories and features before content authors start creating content. Visit our Manage the Parks module article for more details on how to do this.
  • Select facility features: Available amenities/services available at the park. These features are listed in a side panel on the page.
Note: on mobile view, all side panels are displayed below the main content area
  • Add facility image: Main image for the park used in the listing page and the OC Park page.
Note: When choosing an image, make sure it is at least 900 px wide. This size will work for both templates available.
  • Hours: The park opening hours. Leave this field blank if the park doesn't have set opening hours.
  • Extra details about hours: Enter any additional details about opening hours, such as a public holiday or seasonal variations.
  • Location details
    • Street address: Street location for Google maps. There must be something in this field for the map to display.
    • Locality: Suburb of facility for Google maps.
    • Postal code: Post code or ZIP code of facility for Google maps.
    • Latitude Longitude (in decimal "lat, lon" format): The latitude and longitude to determine the park's location on a map. You can add this yourself, or it will be automatically generated from the street address when the page is published. We recommend manually entering the lat/long for locations that don't have a fixed address, but you must still have something in the Street address field to display the map. This will drop a map pin at the coordinates you specify.
Note: If you are adding this manually, please ensure the More > Site Management > your site > Settings > Location > Overwrite lat/long values when the page is published setting is set to No
  • Contact Details
    • Contact name: Name of contact person or organization.
    • Contact phone number: Phone number of the contact person or organization.
    • Alternate phone number: Alternate phone number of the contact person or organization.
    • Contact email: Email of the contact person or organization.
    • Facility website (starting with http:// or https://): Website URL for the park.
  • Temporary announcement
    • What kind of announcement is this: Select from Temporary Closure, Announcement, or Warning.
    • Add an announcement: Text for announcement.
  • Supporting information
    • Additional side panels: Add additional side panel content using a  WYSIWYG editor. Use the field provided to name the panel and the edit button to open the WYSIWYG editor.
    • Add supporting images: Park-related images for an image gallery on the details page.
    • Add supporting links: Park-related internal or external links.
    • Add supporting documents: Park related documentation.
    • Enter custom text and link: Additional internal or external links.
    • Add common search terms people would use when looking for this facility: Park keywords or metadata to boost the page in search results.
    • Content labels: These labels organize your content internally (i.e., your site visitors won’t see the labels). You can make content lists using these content labels.

The admin of a park page

OC Park pages have two templates: the OC Default template or the OC With Full-Width Image. Both templates are 2-columns, with a main WYSIWYG content area and a right-hand column for side panel content to list park features. While both templates have a field for a page image, the OC With Full Width Image template is better suited to prominently displaying an image of your park.
