The Elected Officials module displays profiles of the elected officials of your city or council. The module is automatically installed on main sites and can be manually installed on Intranets and subsites. The module works in 3 parts: an elected officials listing page, a homepage listing and OC Elected Official pages.

Elected Officials listing page

The listing page uses the OC Module Interface content type with the template OC Elected Officials template and pulls in all OC Elected Official pages throughout your site, displaying them in a grid layout. The listing page shows every official on your site in the order which they appear in the site tree, however the mayor's profile will always appear first.

The listing will display their name, title, photo, contact details, email, a short profile, and social media links. It also has a WYSIWYG content area above the listing for an introduction and below the listing for any supplemental information.

See it in action: Check out an elected officials listing page and an elected official page on our demo site.

Create an Elected Officials listing page

When we create your site, we will have already created an elected officials listing for you, but if you need to create one yourself follow these steps:

  1. Right-click in the site tree where you want to create the listing
  2. Select Create page.
  3. Choose OC Module Interface as the content type.
  4. Select OC Elected Officials from the Template Name dropdown menu.
  5. Fill out the necessary fields of the listing page.
  6. Publish the page.

The listing will pull OC Elected Official pages from all over the site. To keep your site tree organized, it may be helpful to create all OC Elected Official pages as child pages of the listing.

Elected officials homepage listing

The Elected Officials module also includes a homepage listing either as an extra tab or in a featured content page, as long as it has been configured in your theme. For each entry, the official's name, title and image will display on your homepage. This module listing does not have a built-in call-to-action button linking to the listing page. You can add a call-to-action button to one of the WYSIWYG Editors, either above or below the listing section of the tab, to link to the Elected Officials listing page.

We recommend displaying 3 officials at a time in the homepage listing for a better viewing experience on tablet and mobile devices. More than 3 items at a time create too long of a scroll for users with smaller devices and excessive content for screen readers.

Next steps:

  1. Create an OC Elected Official page
  2. Manage the Elected Officials module
