Public Notices

New OC Page type for displaying Public Notice items independently or within a homepage tab (optional).  Display template include a full listing, current and expired listing, with page items linked to a details page.

Embedded Text-to-speech Implementation Available

The ability to include a third party text to speech accessibility application in the Site Template and as an option for documentation links.  Note: the third party Readspeaker application needs to be purchased and configured for this functionality to be enabled.

Live Chat Implementation Available

Live Chat messenger services provided by a third party such as Zopimchat, Olark and GoToAssist can be applied to the site template.

Homepage Slider

This responsive rotating banner can be applied to main or sub sites to promote numerous articles at the top of the homepage.

Sub Site Builder (Premium module)

This module allows other website groups to be added to the OpenCities interface. In Site Management, site Developers have access to reuse or create new template styles for a limited number of page types available in the sub site group to produce an independent site that can link content from the Public and other sub sites.

Accessibility Checker

The Accessibility checker can be set to check content based on a specific WCAG compliance level. This can be assigned to 'Check' or 'Enforce' changes to the content before it can be submitted to workflow or the live environment.

Offensive Words Checker

Operates independently or in-conjunction with the Accessibility checker, and scans submitted page content for any words listed on the default offensive words list.  If the Offensive word checker is enabled and an offensive word is identified, a pop up will highlight the word as a warning (Check level) or prevent page submission (Enforce level) until the word is approved or removed.

Improvements

  • Update for Responsive tables with improved display for tablet and mobile devices.
  • Folders and Files can be assigned as "Bookmark" Items, displayed in the "My Bookmarks" tab on the Dashboard for quick link access (sorted alphabetically by name).
  • Ability to include description text for media files for accessibility.
  • The ability to identify the source URL of shared content inserted into the WYSIWYG of a page under Properties.
  • Default image quality values can be set to automatically compress images based on optimal resolution size opposed to actual file size.
  • Image size optimization has been enhanced in the inbuilt image editor.
  • Audit Log enabled by default.
  • "Seamless CMS is starting up…" message screen has been improved.
  • Reordering DLV options does not crash admin.
  • Composite Date in Australian format.
  • OC CL Public Homepage Do it Online for Desktop has been reset to display in Ascending order. This is a possible breaking change so please check your site to ensure consistency between site tree order (under Home > Tabs > Do it online) and display order.
  • The addition of default workflow roles that can be assigned to Users to create workflow approval groups - OC Workflow Approver 1, OC Workflow Approver 2 (for multiple stage workflows), OC Event Approver, OC News Approver, OC Public Notices Approver.
  • Updated Role permissions for OC Developer and OC Site Manager.
  • Additional modules added to the core product include Emergency Announcements, Lost Animals, My Neighbourhood, Works and Projects, Venues, Meetings, Public Notices and Careers.
  • Additional Landing page listing template options
  • Changes in terminology for Plug-ins (previously custom controls), Content Lists (previously List Views).
