Your site's content needs to be accessible and friendly to visitors. We have created a built-in accessibility checker to assist with improving its accessibility. However, like any accessibility tool, you should not rely only on the built-in accessibility checker to assess your site, as it can generate false-positive results.
You can set content standards in Site Management to manage accessibility and ensure that every content author on your site meets the same standard.
- Go to More > Site Management > your site > Settings.
- Select Content Standards.
- Select your Accessibility and Offensive words settings.
- Select Save Settings, then Save.

Using the Content Report
If a content author attempts to publish a page that does not meet the standards you've set, they will be presented with a Content Report. This report will share issues found for:
- Accessibility: States any issues found and which field they were found in. Fields are listed using the field label; Body Content refers to the page's main WYSIWYG Editor. Because WYSIWYG Editors can have multiple accessibility issues, the report will state whether or not the editor passed the accessibility check. You can use the accessibility checker in the WYSIWYG Editor to check what is failing the check.
- Offensive Words: Lists the offensive word and which field it is found in.
If your Check level is set to Check, the content author will be given the option to Update Content or to Publish the page despite the reported issues. If you Enforce your content standards, then content authors will be unable to publish and will only see the Update Content option.
The WYSIWYG Editor Accessibility Checker
If your Content Report states that the Body Content did not pass the accessibility check, it means that an element of the content in a WYGIWYG Editor on your page is not passing the accessibility standard. This will also apply to fields like Additional side panels and Accordion panels, as they also contain WYSIWYG Editors.
To check what is failing accessibility:
- Open the WYSIWYG Editor for your page.
- Select the AccessibilityChecker icon in the toolbar.
- A pop-up report describing any errors and potential problems will appear. Please note that the report may take some time to load.
- Once you have the details, you can fix any errors and republish the page.
If your page has more than one WYSIWYG Editor, you may need to check them all.
