The Latest Updates accordion on consultation pages contains detailed updates and news on projects. To add updates you can use OC Blog pages or OC News Article pages. However, we recommend using OC Blog pages as news articles will also be listed on any news listings on your site.
This article will discuss:
- How to create a blog post
- How to fill in the page fields
- The available templates for blog pages
When an OC Consultation page is created, three child folders are created with it. The Latest Updates folder is where you will create your OC Blog pages.
OC Blog pages will display under a Latest Updates accordion on the consultation page. Clicking on an item in the accordion will take your community to a page with the full article.

How to Create an OC Blog Page
- Right-click on the Latest Updates folder under the consultation page.
- Select Create Page.
- Choose OC Blog as the content type. You should only be able to select from OC News Article or OC Blog.
- Fill in the necessary fields.
- Publish your blog page.
Make sure you publish the OC Blog page and the Latest Updates folder so they will show on the OC Consultation page.
What to Include on Your OC Blog Page:
The main feature of an OC Blog page is the WYSIWYG Editor, which you will use to create the blog post's content. However, the page fields are also important. Use the following information to fill out the blog page fields:
Field | Function |
Page name | Completes the unique page URL |
Blog title | The title of the blog page, this displays at the top of the blog page and on the parent consultation page. |
Add blog summary | A brief overview of the blog for the parent consultation page and search results. |
Add official publish date | The publish date which is displayed on the blog page and the parent consultation page. The listing in the Latest Updates accordion will organize blog posts using this date, starting with the most recent publication date. |
Add blog image |
Main image for the blog, used on the blog page and the parent consultation page. Note: when choosing an image, make sure it is at least 900 px wide. This size will work for all templates available. |
Supporting information | |
Additional side panels (Only for templates with side panels) | Add additional side panel content using a WYSIWYG Editor. Use the field provided to name the panel and the edit button to open the WYSIWYG Editor. |
Add supporting links | Related internal/external links for the blog |
Add supporting documents | Related documents for the blog |
Add common search terms people would use when looking for this content | Keywords to boost the page in search results |
Content labels | These labels organize your content internally (i.e., your site visitors won't see the labels). You can make lists out of content with the same label. |
