User feedback is invaluable to the continuous improvement of your site. The Page Feedback module lets you get insights from your community to ensure that your content meets their needs.

The module is implemented by content type. This means you can decide which pages have a feedback form, ensuring that your site does not become too cluttered. There is no site-wide setting for Page Feedback to enable feedback forms across the site.

If you're a Site Manager or System Administrator, you can enable page feedback from the Site Management settings for each module. Content authors can then turn it on or off for specific pages of that module.

Turn page feedback on for a content type

This task can be undertaken by users with the following roles: OC Site Manager and OC System Administrator.

You can turn page feedback on from the Site Management settings for each module.

  1. From the main menu, go to More > Site Management > your site > Settings.
  2. In the Settings tab, choose which content type you want to enable page feedback on.
  3. Choose your setting from the Feedback form dropdown menu.

  4. Choose which form you want to use from the Form to use for feedback dropdown menu.
  5. Save your changes.

We recommend carefully choosing which content types have feedback forms; sites can start looking messy if too many pages have feedback forms enabled. A good start is to use page feedback on OC General and OC Service pages. These pages can often benefit from user feedback as site visitors may find information-heavy general pages complex or the steps of a service page unclear.

Additionally, you can add feedback forms to your most frequently visited or useful pages, so you can ensure that your community is finding the information they need. For example, you may want to ensure that popular service pages are clear and straightforward.

Feedback form settings

Use the following information to set your Page Feedback setting for each module:

Disabled Feedback forms will not display for this content type
Turn on and show on pages by default Feedback forms are turned on and will always be shown for pages of this content type unless disabled at a page level.
Turn on but hide on pages by default Feedback forms are turned on but will not be shown for pages of this content type unless enabled at a page level.

Turn page feedback on or off for a page

Once feedback is turned on for a content type, you can turn it on or off for each page of the content type.

  1. Navigate to the page you want feedback on and click Update if the page has been published.
  2. Go to the Engagement tab.
  3. Under Page Feedback, check the box to Show feedback form on this page, or uncheck it to turn page feedback off.

Edit the default page feedback form

This task can be undertaken by users with the following roles: OC Site Manager, OC System Administrator, and OC Power Publisher.

We provide a default page feedback form for you to use: the OC Default Page Feedback Form [your site]. While you can make some edits to this form, you cannot change all aspects of it.

To edit your feedback form:

  1. From the main menu, go to Forms > Legacy Forms.
  2. Select OC Default Page Feedback Form Public from the list of forms.
  3. You can edit any values in the Overview tab except for Name, Short Description, and Form template.
  4. In the Edit form tab, you can add or edit any fields except for Page title, Page link, and Was this page helpful?
  5. Save your changes.

To get more detailed information about adding or editing forms, please see our Forms section.

Once you've set up your page feedback forms, you'll need to monitor the responses from your community.
