The ATDW module will automatically sync attractions from ATDW using the OC Tourist Attraction content type. You can also create these pages via the site tree; synced OC Tourist Attraction pages have the same functionalities as those made within the site tree.

To create or update an attraction page:

  1. If you're creating from scratch, right-click in the site tree where you want to make the page and select Create Page.
  2. Select OC Tourist Attraction as the content type. If you're editing an existing page, navigate to the OC Tourist Attraction page in your site tree which you want to edit, and select Update.
  3. Make your changes to the page fields. Please note that you cannot alter the content in the WYSIWYG Editor or other locked fields.
  4. Preview and Publish your page when you're ready.

We have made changes to how we handle content synced from ATDW. These changes align with the ATDW Distribution Licence Agreement, which states that all content is controlled and managed by ATDW Operators. To maintain ATDW as the accurate source of truth, all fields will now be locked in the CMS, except for the Page name and Content labels fields. We are keeping these fields unlocked so you can control the page URL and the content lists on which they display. All fields are unlocked when creating an OC Tourist Attraction page from the admin.

All locked fields must be updated in ATDW, which will then update on the next sync. Unlocked fields will not update at the next sync.

What to Include on OC Tourist Attraction Pages

You can use the following information to create your OC Tourist Attraction pages. All fields except the Page name and Content labels are locked for synced pages.

Two WYSIWYG Editors are available to create content for newly created pages. The main body content editor can be accessed from the blue area of the template image, while the other can be accessed by selecting Attraction activities, facilities, accessibility information from the WYSIWYG Editor drop-down menu. Content in either WYSIWYG Editor will appear in the main content area.

  • Page name: Completes the unique page URL.
  • Attraction name: The name of the attraction.
  • Product short description: A short description of the attraction to appear in search results and listing pages.
  • Primary image: Set the main image for the listing page, search results, and OC Tourist Attraction page. This image is hosted as a content file for synced pages. We recommend using an image at least 900px wide to accommodate the OC Default template.
  • Attraction contact details:
    • Tourism organization: The organization which hosts the attraction.
    • Primary phone number: Phone number of the contact person or organization.
    • Secondary phone number: Secondary phone number of the contact person or organization.
    • Email: Email address of the contact person or organization.
    • Building/Venue name: The name of the building or venue which hosts the attraction.
    • Street address: The street address of the attraction for maps. You must have something in this field to display the map.
    • Locality: The suburb of the attraction for maps.
    • Postal code: The postcode of the attraction for maps.
    • Latitude Longitude: The latitude and longitude to determine the attraction's location on a map. You can add this yourself, or it will be automatically generated from the street address when the page is published. We recommend manually entering the lat/long for locations that don't have a fixed address, but you must still have something in the Street address field to display the map. This will drop a map pin at the coordinates you specify.
Note: If you are adding this manually, please ensure the More > Site Management > your site > Settings > Location > Overwrite lat/long values when the page is published setting is set to No
    • Attraction website (starting with http:// or https://): A website URL for the attraction.
    • Links to social media: Links to the social media pages for your attraction.
  • Attraction details:
  • ATDW type (Accommodation, Attraction or Tour): The category associated with the attraction, for example, Attractions, Food and Drink, Tours, etc.
  • Attraction types: Several types of tourist attractions sync from ATDW. These types appear on the attraction listing page; each type has its own field. ATDW has set types, and any that do not exist in the Attraction settings will not sync through. You can add or remove Attraction types in the Attraction Site Management settings. The types are:
    • Attraction
    • Destination Information
    • Food & Drink
    • General Services
    • Hire
    • Information Services
    • Journey
    • Tour
    • Transport
  • Entry cost: The cost of entry for the attraction.
  • Cost description: Provide information about the cost of the attraction.
  • Image Gallery: Attraction-related images for an image gallery on the content page. These images will be hosted on your ATDW account for synced pages.
  • Video Gallery: Attraction-related videos for a video gallery on the content page. These videos will be hosted on your ATDW account for synced pages.
  • Supporting information:
    • Content labels: These labels organize your content internally, and you can use them to build content lists. These labels are not visible to site visitors. Content labels will sync once from ATDW and be added to the system if unavailable. After the original sync, content labels must be manually added or removed.
